BERRY COMPANIES, INC.

Berry Companies, Inc. is in the construction and industrial equipment distribution business. Based in Wichita, KS, it has twenty-eight locations in six states. It also has a subsidiary, SB Manufacturing, which assembles a self-propelled construction broom. Total employment is approximately 448.

Berry Companies, Inc. is headquartered in Wichita, KS in the White Star building. We are an administrative support group, which provides accounting, data processing, payroll, insurance, advertising, and financial services to each of its eight operating divisions. Each operating division is operated and managed independently. With the exception of SB Manufacturing, each is engaged in the distribution of construction or material handling equipment, which is purchased from manufacturers and sold or rented to contractors, governments, and industries. Fred Berry is Chairman, Walter Berry is President, Dan Scheer and John Engels are Executive Vice Presidents, Judy Worrell is Vice President/Treasurer, Rod Opliger is Controller and Wayne Becker is IT Director.

THE BERRY COMPANIES FAMILY

Berry Tractor and Equipment

Acquired by the Berry family in 1957, this division specializes in Komatsu motor graders, crawler tractors, loaders, excavators, rollers, concrete paving, asphalt/aggregate and other related construction equipment. Headquartered in Wichita, KS, this division has three branches located in Garden City, Topeka, and Springfield, MO. Division employment in October 2011 was 65. Dan Scheer is president and Ken Wasinger is Division Manager.

White Star Machinery

Acquired in 1962, this division specializes in Bobcat skid-steer and track loaders, hydraulic excavators, and construction supplies, a wide variety of concrete equipment, and a large assortment of woodworking supplies and small tools. Headquartered in Wichita, KS., this division has branches in Manhattan, Topeka, Tulsa, OK., and shares a facility with Berry Tractor in Garden City. Division employment in October 2011 was 73. Glenn Engels is President.

Bobcat of the Rockies, LLC.

Formed in 1965, this division specializes in Bobcat skid-steer and track loaders, excavators, light construction equipment, supplies and concrete tools. This division is headquartered in Golden, CO., and had branches in Commerce City, Parker, Greeley and Grand Junction. January 1, 2011 Bobcat of the Rockies partnered with Colorado Machinery to combine all of our Bobcat operations. The new entity is called Bobcat of the Rockies, LLC. We added  branches in Colorado Springs, Pueblo West, Windsor, and Cheyenne, Wyoming. Alan Coffman is President and Pat Kelleher is Sales Manager. Division employment in October 2011 was 81.

Berry Material Handling

Formed in 1975, this division specializes in Yale lift trucks and other related material handling equipment. Headquartered in Wichita, KS., this division has a branch in Topeka and shares a facility with Berry Tractor in Garden City. Division employment in October 2011 was 54. Joe Wilson is President.

Bobcat of Houston

Acquired in 1999, this division specializes in Bobcat skid-steer and track loaders, excavators, light construction equipment, supplies and concrete tools. Heacquartered in Jersey Village, a Houston suburb, this division has a branch in south Houston on Beltway 8 and also in Conroe. Division employment in October 2011 was 37. Jonathan Tarpey is President.

KC Bobcat

KC Bobcat was founded in 1974. In 2000 Berry Companies, Inc. purchased the company. This company specializes in Bobcat skid-steer and track loaders and excavators. Headquartered in Blue Springs, MO., this division has branches in Platte City, MO., and Olathe, KS. Employment in October 2011 was 50. Steve Meadows is President.

Bobcat in North Texas

Bobcat of Dallas, Bobcat of Fort Worth and Bobcat of Longview were purchased from Conley Lott Nichols in December of 2009. This division specializes in Bobcat skid-steer loaders and excavators. Division employment in October 2011 was 45. Cole Young is Division Manager.

SB Manufacturing

Founded in 2002, SB Manufactures the Superior Broom, a construction broom that is distributed in dealerships throughout the United States, with some export sales. Employment in October 2011 was 21. Tom McBride is President.
